Narrative
“With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.”
― Dr. Seuss
Every time I hear this quote, I instantly think of a “not-so-good street” as an ally way. In movies, alleyways are usually in scenes when something bad is about to happen. An idea that instantly came to mind was a teenage girl wearing all black walking down an alley way. Yes, I thought that was a good starting idea, but I felt like maybe what she was doing could convey another message. Then this Idea popped up: looking over her shoulder will hint the idea that she knows she shouldn’t be there or even she doesn’t want anyone to know. She’s smart enough to know that she shouldn’t be there and that is why she is cautious.
To achieve this image, I took this picture at night time behind Vons because I didn’t have any alleyways and let’s be real, I’m not going in an alleyway at night. I had my sister dress in all black and start walking away from me while looking away to get the real effect of walking. Once I felt like I had the best picture possible, I uploaded them to Photoshop and began editing. I used the rectangular marquee tool to copy the wall, flip the image and pasted it to make it look more like an alleyway. Because my sister was in front of some of the wall, I used the stamp cloning tool to clone some of the pricks in to finish up the other side of the wall. Once I was done with the edit, I used the circular marquee tool to select an area and used the brightness and contrast to give the image a more eerie effect. I did this twice making the second selection smaller and then I was done with my final picture!

“You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.”

“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”
